Privacy Policy

All PDF operations (merge, compress, convert, sign, encrypt, OCR, etc.) run entirely on your computer. SafePDF never sends the content of your files, nor even their metadata, to the internet.

No server receives, stores or analyzes your documents. This is the fundamental difference from online PDF tools.

Your PDF files: never transmitted. Processed locally by the embedded engines (pdf-lib, Ghostscript, qpdf, Tesseract, LibreOffice).

Update checks: the app queries the public GitHub repo (ElNelyo/safepdf-releases) to see if a new version exists. No personal data is sent; it's a simple read of a public list.

Pro license (Pro users only): a signed license token (Ed25519) is stored locally and associated with a hardware identifier to bind the license to your machine. This identifier is generated locally and contains no personal information.

Local storage: app preferences are encrypted via the OS keychain (safeStorage / Keychain).

Analytics: we use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly solution that does not set cookies and does not perform cross-site tracking. Only anonymized aggregated statistics (page views, country, device type) are collected.

Payment: Pro payments are processed by Stripe. Card data never transits through our servers — it is entered directly on Stripe's secure infrastructure. We only receive the billing email and the Stripe customer ID.

No account is required to use the free merge tool.

No telemetry or usage collection.

No advertising tracking.

No sale or sharing of data.

No upload of your file content, under any circumstances.

Under the GDPR, you have a right of access, rectification and deletion of your data. Since we store almost no personal data (only the billing email for Pro subscribers), exercising these rights is simple and immediate.

The safepdf.fr website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States). Desktop installers are distributed via GitHub (Microsoft). Payments are processed by Stripe. No file data transits through these providers.
